Rebecca Ferguson has been one of the most consistently good performers on The X Factor 2010 but tonight, she stepped the competition up a gear with a truly stunning rendition of Amazing Grace.

Comparisons to former winner and now global superstar, Leona Lewis, were tonight completely valid as Rebecca shone on what has been a night fraught with performance ups and downs.

After blowing the judges away with her dance-diva version of
Show Me Love for the Club Classics section of the show, it seemed Rebecca would struggle to top the praise she earlier received, but she did it.

Rebecca took to the stage in a dramatic, floor length, burgundy dress, with a backing choir making the performance all the more haunting.

She delivered a moving, confident performance that saw mentor Cheryl Cole give her a standing ovation.

Louis Walsh gushed: “Rebecca I think you’re my favourite contestant ever because you’re likable and loveable. You so deserve to be in the final cause I think you’re amazing.”

Dannii Minogue agreed saying: “Rebecca I think that was pure class. You’re a girl that we want things to happen to, you really deserve this and I want you to be in the final.”

Simon Cowell simply said: “I think that was stunning from beginning to end. I love you because you haven’t come in with a game. No tricks, just pure sincerity, you are a class act Rebecca.”

When Dermot O’Leary asked Rebecca what it would mean to make it to the final, she said: “It would be like a dream come true really.” After tonight’s performances, it looks like dreams really do come true.

X Factor star Rebecca Ferguson’s children ask fans to vote for their mum in semi-final

X Factor Star Rebecca Ferguson is being cheered on by her children Lillie May(6) and Karl(4)
X FACTOR Rebecca Ferguson’s children today asked fans to vote for their mummy in this weekend’s eagerly-anticipated semi-final.
Little cuties Lillie May, six, and Karl, four, have spent every weekend of the past two months backstage watching their mum battle it out in the live ITV talent show. Watch Lillie May's video good luck message to her mum by clicking here.
The ECHO spent yesterday afternoon with the youngsters at their dad Karl Dures’s Everton home, ahead of their trip to London today.
Speaking exclusively to the paper, Rebecca’s ex-boyfriend, and dad to her two children, talked about how Lillie May and Karl are loving their mum being in the spotlight – and how Rebecca was dealing with the mounting pressure ahead of tonight’s “Club Classics” performances.
Bricklayer Karl, 25, said: “We’re dead proud of her. We’re wishing her loads of luck and have been phoning her every day.
“With them being kids it just goes over their heads, but they are loving all the attention. They’ve got loads more mates at school and their teachers are talking to them about their mum being on X Factor.
“Lil’ and Karl have been going down every weekend to watch her backstage and they love it.
“They’re having a great time. All the acts are really good with the kids. They like seeing the boys from One Direction, they joke with Harry and call him ‘girly hair’ because of his curly hair. They can’t get how she’s on telly, they want to go in there with her.  “Becky’s nervous with it being the semi-final, she just doesn’t know which way the votes are going.

“You didn’t expect some of the acts to go out before Wagner, but they did, so you just don’t know what to expect.”
He added: “My family and I took the kids away to Florida and when we came back Becky got through to Cheryl Cole’s house.
“I was only back for four days and went to work in Australia and she went through to the live shows. We were made up.
“I was watching her every week on YouTube. When I went she was only just getting through, but when I came back everything had blown up. I’ve only been back home a week and when I go out with the kids people recognise them as Rebecca’s children, it’s really funny.
“Becky’s been brilliant. No-one has a bad word to say about her, everyone loves her.”
Not so long ago, Huyton-born Rebecca, who lives in Anfield, was a young mum studying at Bootle’s Hugh Baird College to become a legal secretary and give her children a better life.
Now she is a top-five finalist in one of the nation's biggest and most loved talent shows, The X Factor.
This year was her third time at auditioning and Rebecca’s family went to the Manchester auditions to support her.
Her biggest fans, Lillie May and Karl, will be joined by Karl’s sister, Becky, and brother, Craig, tonight to cheer her on in the life-changing contest.

rebecca fergusonSophisticated X Factor contestant and the one to watch Rebecca Ferguson, sends out cryptic messages about rival Cher Lloyd…
It is clear to see that Rebecca thinks a lot of old roommate Katie Waissel, which is more that we can say for gangster wannabe Cher Lloyd.
When we spoke to classy lady Rebeeca Ferguson backstage, she would not confirm or deny anything, but told us somewhat cryptically, “I feel bad for Katie Waissel because she got a lot of flack. But i think the ‘Wrong person’ was getting it. katie was Lovely.”
Unfortunately, Rebecca was too mature to dish the dirt and divulge exactly which contestant deserves to receive flack. But does her next statement reveal the secret?
Recently rumors have been buzzing about that Rebecca decide to move out of the room she shared with Katie and Cher, at the X factor house.
“Yeah. It is true. I just like my own room,” she says.
So has there been a big fight between Rebecca and Cher?
“No, There’s been no bust up. Um. To me, Cher is a young girl, still very young. That’s all i’ll say.”
Well there you go, it came straight from the horses mouth… Cher Lloyd can be a nightmare.
But all tantrums aside, lets hope both of Cheryl Cole’s talented girls will make it through to the X Factor final.
Go girls!

"OK Magazine"

REBECCA Ferguson may be one of the favourites to win The X Factor 2010.
But talented X Factor 2010 semi-finalist Rebecca Ferguson has revealed she's been thinking about quitting the show.

The Scouse brunette says she's struggling with missing her kids so much that she's wondered whether there's any point continuing in the competition.

She said: "I've been missing my kids. It has been a big sacrifice. I've missed their birthdays, I've missed their first days at school. I actually found myself thinking 'Is it all going to be worth it?'"

But luckily for her fans (and we definitely count ourselves as that), the 24-year-old has talked herself around and is trying to relax and enjoy the final stretch.

Cheryl Cole's act added: "I've been told to just enjoy it now. There's two weeks left."

Rebecca Ferguson Shines At Narnia Film Premiere

Stunning X Factor finalist Rebecca Ferguson showed she’s already dressing like a star when she attended the premiere of Narnia: Voyage of The Dawn Treader.
The premiere was attended by the Queen and Prince Phillip – who got into the spirit and wore 3D glasses to view the movie – and the royals must have approved of Rebecca’s elegant coat.
It kept her warm on a snowy day and yet it still captures the attention of the cameras with its pale, metallic sheen.
On the red carpet Rebecca exclusively revealed to Very she was “amazed” she had made it to the semi-finals of the talent show. How refreshingly modest!
Meanwhile fellow finalist Matt Cardle revealed that Cowell had already picked a winner’s song and they’d started rehearsing it.
Last year Cowell picked The Climbby Miley Cyrus as the official song the winner would release before Joe McElderry was announced as the champion.
This year it needs to be a unisex song as the public vote is completely split between Matt and Rebecca. That said, One Direction and Cher Lloyd aren’t doing too badly either.
However, if the vote came down to fashion then there would be no competition for the Liverpudlian vocalist as she consistently wears feminine, flattering and generally fabulous outfits.
