"There Will Always Be the Critics-Toya World"

Simon Cowell signs Rebecca Ferguson…

Rebecca-Ferguson
Rebecca Ferguson has a bright future ahead of her…
We knew she was going to get signed because the runner-up NEVER goes without. Apparently, the 24-year-old mother of two has been snagged up by Simon Cowell. Reportedly, she has signed a lucrative record deal with his Syco label. It also seems she is making the most out of herX Factor money because she was spotted house hunting in her native Liverpool this week. The music mogul has also signed up boyband One Direction, whom he mentored in the talent show, as well as wannabe teen rapper Cher Lloyd.
Watching her perform is as entertaining as staring at a packet of potatoes. I understand she’s not an entertainer but when she performs, she hardly moves. It’s as if someone glued her there. A little charisma wouldn’t go amiss. However, I love her voice, so whilst I’ll support her musical endeavors, you can count me out from attending any of her concerts. In any case though, a congratulations is in order. Her signing was well deserved.

"2011 is Rebecca's Year- Liverpool Echo"

WELL the X Factor has finished, scandals, tantrums and rows, huge ratings and Wagner. The X Factor brand is now unstoppable. What is going to happen next year?
It doesn’t matter, because 2011 is Rebecca Ferguson’s year.
What a fantastic journey she has been on. She first appeared on the auditions. I saw this classy lady with amazing dress sense and we were then treated to a voice that is a gift. The gift came from a quietly spoken Liverpool girl and you better believe that standing in front of us was somebody rather special.
Straight away the ECHO and Radio City got behind her. Pictures were in every edition of the paper. Radio City became Radio Rebecca for the day. We all knew that the Liverpool people would love her.
What Rebecca did for this city was to show one of its daughters with a vulnerability, humility and talent. I was there when the limo pulled up outside the Arena and nothing could have prepared her for her welcome. And she spent so much time with her new fans.
Cheryl Cole was the icing on the cake for me. I finally got to meet this beautiful women and she took my breath away. Go to You Tube and you’ll see me on stage with Rebecca and Cheryl. Rebecca never won the X Factor but make no mistake she has won. Her career will explode. They will nurture her and she will become a world star. What a lovely Christmas present. Merry Christmas Becky, you have done Liverpool proud.

"Rebecca Does Liverpool Proud"

Rebecca Ferguson may have lost the X Factor final but her dance teacher is predicting "a brilliant career".
The 24-year-old singer from Anfield in Liverpool was pipped at the post by the ultimate winner Matt Cardle. X-Factor Winner Single 2010
Rebecca accepted her defeat graciously saying, "I'm so happy, so grateful and Matt's amazing. I'm just so happy to have got this far."
Her dance teacher Stephanie Pritchard watched her performance as part of the live audience link up in Liverpool.
Stephanie, who taught Rebecca when she was a teenager at the Starlite School of Performing Arts in Garston, said she thought that it was just the start of Rebecca's career in the music industry.

"This won't stop her, she is amazing," she said.
"She didn't need to win this because she's talented and she's got Liverpool behind her. She'll have a brilliant career."

"Rebecca Gets Signed by Simon Cowell -Liverpool Echo"

UPDATED: X Factor's Simon Cowell signs Liverpool's Rebecca Ferguson to his Syco record label as she house hunts in city

Rebecca Ferguson
MUSIC mogul Simon Cowell has signed X Factor finalist Rebecca Ferguson to his Syco record label - as the starlet went house hunting in Liverpool.
The X Factor boss acted quickly to secure the singer with his label after being blown away by her talent on the show.
And the ECHO can exclusively reveal Rebecca has already taken her first steps towards her new life.
Rebecca, from Anfield, returned home today to shop for an extra special Christmas present for her and her children - a new Merseyside base.
Today the single mum told the ECHO she was scouring city centre and Allerton estate agents for a "nice house" for her and Lillie May, six, and Karl, four.
The 24-year-old said: "I was so teary eyed when I watched the live broadcast from Liverpool on the X Factor final. It is lovely to be back home."
She tipped the ECHO off earlier this week that she could be signing a lucrative deal.
She said: "I have a day meeting with management. I imagine there will be interest and I will find out about contracts.
"It would be amazing to record my own album. I like to write my own songs."
Sources close to the record label confirmed Rebecca’s signing to the ECHO.
Boyband One Direction and teen rapper Cher Lloyd also joined winner Matt Cardle by signing contracts with Simon, 50.
Last year he only offered runner-up Olly Murs a contract apart from champ Joe McElderry.
Today Rebecca’s family said they were confident her future would be bright.
Rebecca’s brother Sam Ferguson, 21, was helping his sister choose her pad.
He said: "When Becky got in the final two I knew either way she was going to do well. I knew the offers would come in. The way I look at it is she’ll probably end up getting the best deal out of it"

"Rebecca Goes House Hunting"

Future looks bright for X Factor runner-up Rebecca Ferguson as she goes house-hunting in Liverpool

She may have been the runner-up in this year's X Factor, but the future is certainly looking bright for Rebecca Ferguson.
Amidst reports she is set to sign a record deal with Simon Cowell, the mother-of-two was spotted house-hunting in her native Liverpool today.
Looking thrilled to be back home in Merseyside, the stylish singer, 24, beamed with happiness as she popped into a local estate agent.

Wearing a hat, fluffy coat and a pair of jeggings, Ferguson was joined by her younger brother Sam, 21, as she picked up some sales leaflets of a few properties in the Allerton suburb of Liverpool.
The singer told the Liverpool Echo she was hoping to find a 'nice house' for her and her children Lillie May, six, and Karl, four.
While Ferguson and Cowell are declining to confirm reports of a deal between them, her house-hunting suggests a big payday is looming.

Speaking this week, Cowell said: 'I love her and she will have a fantastic career. She's unique and knows her own mind.'
Her mentor Cheryl Cole is equally positive about the singer's future: 'I think the future is bright and this is the start of a life-changing moment for Rebecca. She is an amazing person with a great heart and she deserves to go far.

While Cowell is yet to confirm if he's signed Ferguson, fellow judge Louis Walsh tipped the Scouser to have a 'brilliant recording career'.
Cowell is also said to have offered his boy band One Direction and fourth place singer/rapper Cher Lloyd recording contracts.

"Rebecca's Off to Work with a New Gig"

    X Factor's Rebecca Ferguson's Stockton gig

    Rebecca Ferguson with Cheryl Cole
LIKE it or not there’s no escaping the X Factor.
And undoubtedly one of the biggest stars of this year’s show has been soulful singer Rebecca Ferguson.
The 24-year-old, who finished runner-up in the show, won over thousands of fans with her gorgeous voice and looks.
And now the mum-of-two will be bringing her talent to Stockton’s newest nightspot, Glam, on Friday.
Rebecca, from Liverpool, auditioned for the ITV1 show in Manchester.
She sailed through to the next round after being told by Simon Cowell: “That is a recording voice”.
She continued to impress in the live finals, with songs such as Amazing Grace, Show Me Love and Like A Star.
She sailed through to the show’s finals were she was up against teenager Cher Lloyd, boyband One Direction and painter and decorator Matt Cardle.
A showstopping performance with Christina Aguilera then secured Rebecca’s position in the Sunday show with One Direction and eventual winner Matt.
The talented performer, mentored by Girls Aloud’s Cheryl Cole, is rumoured to be about to be signed by Cowell.
Rebecca is the latest X Factor star to announce a Teesside gig. Tomorrow both Katie Waissel and Wagner will be at Glam - with Katie also due at The Empire in Middlesbrough.
And queen of the jungle Stacey Solomon, who finished third in last year’s X Factor, will play Hardwick Hall, near Sedgefield in January.
Tickets to see Rebecca are £5, £4 with an NUS or £6 for a limited VIP meet and greet package.

"Lisa Adams the Last Word" (California Chronicles)

    By Lisa Adams
AS THE race for the Christmas No.1 kicks off, X Factor winner Matt Cardle is the hot favourite to scoop the top spot.
It's obvious to anyone who owns ears that rival finalist Rebecca Ferguson was robbed.
If it was a competition based on pure talent then the 24-year- old mum-of-two from Liverpool would have sent Matt packing. He'd have been pulling on his painter/decorator overalls again and offering to do up Simon Cowell's latest London pad for a discountin a flash.
I think Rebecca lost because she lacked the raunch factor.
It's deeply depressing that in 2010 there are such double standards on Britain's most popular television programme.
Shabby Matt romped home despite spending the majority of the contest in a dodgy hat and taking to the stage in the final with the most lurid luminous yellow trousers imaginable.
And the message was loud and clear to young women everywhere: To stand a chance of making it as a female pop star in today's world, you have to take your clothes off.
No wonder the show inspired a flood of complaints from viewers to telly watchdog Ofcom. Platinum-selling singing sensation Christina Aguilera burst on to our screens wearing virtually nothing during the X Factor final. Dressed in a black, low-cut dress, she turned heads with a racy routine that was entirely inappropriate pre- watershed.
As Christina cavorted with her backing dancers in G-strings to promote her new film Burlesque, married men all over the country quietly choked on their beers baffled that soft porn had just entered their living rooms.
I was hugely relieved that my six-year-old daughter was already tucked up in bed. But many more girls who rate the X Factor as their favourite show would have witnessed it.
It's even more incredible that the show was repeated at 9.30am on Sunday morning. Multi-million-pound selling female artist Rihanna, who sang with X Factor winner Matt, didn't do a lot for feminism either.
The 22-year-old Umbrella singer stripped down to a pair of knickers, fish-net tights and a bra as she gyrated on stage.
Her dramatic striptease revealed the most startlingly beautiful pair of toned thighs but what was that really Her dramatic striptease revealed the most startlingly beautiful pair of toned thighs but what was that really saying about her new hit What's MyName?
Robbie Williams, on the other hand, strolled on to stage looking effortlessly cool in jeans.
Dirrty singer Aguilera and Rihanna should take some tips from a true diva, Aretha Franklin. The 68-year-old queen of soul, who sadly revealed that she is Dirrty singer Aguilera and Rihanna should take some tips from a true diva, Aretha Franklin. A music legend, her song RESPECT became an anthem for wronged women everywhere.
And in my book, respect starts with keeping your clothes on.
