She may have come across shy on the X Factor, but Rebecca Ferguson in no shrinking violet when it comes to singing. The 24 year old, who is training to become a legal secretary, said: “When it comes to your career, you have to be strong. I’m not a pushover.”
She added: “I feel so proud of how far i’ve come. I look back at myself over the weeks and i’m so proud. I’ve grown a lot.”
Rebecca’s ex boyfriend Karl Dures, 25, dad of her two children, told how the star grew sick of Cher Lloyd in the final weeks and complained to head judge Simon Cowell and mentor Cheryl Cole about her inconsiderate and immature behaviour.
Her boyfriend continued to say: “Becky’s tried her best with Cher. But enough is enough. She had to speak out as things were getting out of hand. Beck’s was going nuts over it and said Cher was turning into a ‘right little nightmare.’”
It was also obvious that there was some considerable tension between the pair in the X factor final. In an interview, Cher was asked ‘who do you want to win out of Matt Cardle or Rebecca Ferguson.”
Cher dismissed the idea of being loyal to her group and mentor Cheryl Cole and quickly and confidently blurted out…”Matt Cardle to Win!”

Rebecca Ferguson has revealed her dream musical duets.



The X Factor runner-up, who performed 'Beautiful' with Christina Aguilera on the first part of Saturday night's final, told Heat about the other hook-ups she would like.
Ferguson said: "I think Christina Aguilera's amazing and I'd love to sing with Whitney Houston, or Kings of Leon."
On criticism of her 'stiff' performances on the reality talent show, she countered: "I've come a long way. I've got a bit of rhythm."
Regarding her alleged rows with fellow finalist Cher Lloyd, Ferguson said: "Cher is still very young. That's all I'll say."

WELL the X Factor has finished, scandals, tantrums and rows, huge ratings and Wagner. The X Factor brand is now unstoppable. What is going to happen next year?
It doesn’t matter, because 2011 is Rebecca Ferguson’s year.
What a fantastic journey she has been on. She first appeared on the auditions. I saw this classy lady with amazing dress sense and we were then treated to a voice that is a gift. The gift came from a quietly spoken Liverpool girl and you better believe that standing in front of us was somebody rather special.
Straight away the ECHO and Radio City got behind her. Pictures were in every edition of the paper. Radio City became Radio Rebecca for the day. We all knew that the Liverpool people would love her.

What Rebecca did for this city was to show one of its daughters with a vulnerability, humility and talent. I was there when the limo pulled up outside the Arena and nothing could have prepared her for her welcome. And she spent so much time with her new fans.
Cheryl Cole was the icing on the cake for me. I finally got to meet this beautiful women and she took my breath away. Go to You Tube and you’ll see me on stage with Rebecca and Cheryl. Rebecca never won the X Factor but make no mistake she has won. Her career will explode. They will nurture her and she will become a world star. What a lovely Christmas present. Merry Christmas Becky, you have done Liverpool proud.

Rebecca Ferguson may have lost the X Factor final but her dance teacher is predicting "a brilliant career".

Her dance teacher Stephanie Pritchard watched her performance as part of the live audience link up in Liverpool.
Stephanie, who taught Rebecca when she was a teenager at the Starlite School of Performing Arts in Garston, said she thought that it was just the start of Rebecca's career in the music industry.


"This won't stop her, she is amazing," she said.
"She didn't need to win this because she's talented and she's got Liverpool behind her. She'll have a brilliant career."

AS THE race for the Christmas No.1 kicks off, X Factor winner Matt Cardle is the hot favourite to scoop the top spot.

It's obvious to anyone who owns ears that rival finalist Rebecca Ferguson was robbed.

If it was a competition based on pure talent then the 24-year- old mum-of-two from Liverpool would have sent Matt packing. He'd have been pulling on his painter/decorator overalls again and offering to do up Simon Cowell's latest London pad for a discountin a flash.

I think Rebecca lost because she lacked the raunch factor.

It's deeply depressing that in 2010 there are such double standards on Britain's most popular television programme.

Shabby Matt romped home despite spending the majority of the contest in a dodgy hat and taking to the stage in the final with the most lurid luminous yellow trousers imaginable.

And the message was loud and clear to young women everywhere: To stand a chance of making it as a female pop star in today's world, you have to take your clothes off.

No wonder the show inspired a flood of complaints from viewers to telly watchdog Ofcom. Platinum-selling singing sensation Christina Aguilera burst on to our screens wearing virtually nothing during the X Factor final. Dressed in a black, low-cut dress,she turned heads with a racy routine that was entirely inappropriate pre- watershed.

As Christina cavorted with her backing dancers in G-strings to promote her new film Burlesque, married men all over the country quietly choked on their beers baffled that soft porn had just entered their living rooms.

I was hugely relieved that my six-year-old daughter was already tucked up in bed. But many more girls who rate the X Factor as their favourite show would have witnessed it.

It's even more incredible that the show was repeated at 9.30am on Sunday morning. Multi-million-pound selling female artist Rihanna, who sang with X Factor winner Matt, didn't do a lot for feminism either.

The 22-year-old Umbrella singer stripped down to a pair of knickers, fish-net tights and a bra as she gyrated on stage.

JUBILANT Rebecca Ferguson today told the ECHO her dreams of fame and fortune were far from over.

The X Factor runner-up spent yesterday meeting with management to determine her future singing career and talk about potential record deals.

She took time out to rubbish rumours that Christina Aguilera had tried to upstage her and stole some of her lines during their duet.

And today Rebecca thanked her fans for their support but begged them not to feel sorry for her after she came second to Matt Cardle.

The mum-of-two revealed she was given a massive boost afterwards by her mentor Cheryl Cole.

She said: “Cheryl said I’m still going to have a career and I’m going to be fine, which was really lovely.

“It was a shock to be in the final two because One Direction were such lovely boys and had a lot of support.

“When I look back I wish I would have relaxed more. Every week I thought I was going and after all that stress I was in the final.”

The 24-year-old also defended Cheryl after some viewers claimed the X Factor judge had ignored Rebecca for weeks in favour of rivals Katie Waissel and Cher Lloyd.

Rebecca said she understood 17-year-old Cher needed guidance from her mentor.

She said: “I felt when Cher arrived there was a big buzz because she was amazing. Everyone got excited because she was young, she was different and she could rap.

“But Cheryl has been really supportive to me. Cher is a lot younger than me. I always felt I could go into Cheryl’s dressing room and have a good gab. She reminds me of a normal Liverpool girl. I like to think we’ll stay in touch.”

Cheryl’s Girls Aloud bandmates, Runcorn singer Nicole Roberts and Kimberley Walsh, who had been in the audience for Sunday's final, rushed backstage to console their pal as soon as it was announced painter-decorator Matt had won.

But Liverpool’s down-to-earth girl was busy getting masses of hugs from her children Lillie May, six, and Karl, four.

The former Gateacre Comprehensive pupil said: “I spent time with my babies and my mum and my family.

“It was an amazing night. I think we were all happy to be in the final. We all agreed we were winners and our lives have changed now.

“People were saying they were sorry I didn’t win. They were expecting me to be gutted, but I’m just so happy I made it this far.”

The Anfield singer, who auditioned for the X Factor for the third time in March, said her highlight was being paired with Christina Aguilera to sing Beautiful.

She said: “She’s an amazing artist. I was so starstruck. I still can’t believe I got to sing with her.

“We rehearsed it through and I was worried I would sing her lyrics so she said we would work it out on stage. She told me to keep eye contact with her.

“I thought she was really sweet. I liked her. Don’t get me wrong she was a professional but at the same time she didn’t have to record a good luck message for me.”

But talented X Factor 2010 semi-finalist Rebecca Ferguson has revealed she's been thinking about quitting the show. 

The Scouse brunette says she's struggling with missing her kids so much that she's wondered whether there's any point continuing in the competition.

She said: "I've been missing my kids. It has been a big sacrifice. I've missed their birthdays, I've missed their first days at school. I actually found myself thinking 'Is it all going to be worth it?'"

But luckily for her fans (and we definitely count ourselves as that), the 24-year-old has talked herself around and is trying to relax and enjoy the final stretch.

Cheryl Cole's act added: "I've been told to just enjoy it now. There's two weeks left."

The singer from Liverpool revealed she had heard rumours that the Back To Black singer wanted to pen a song for her.

The 24-year-old explained she'd also received a letter from Chasing Pavements singer Adele Adkins.

Mum-of-two Rebecca said: "Adele actually wrote me a letter. It was such a surprise and I felt very privileged.

"I'm a big fan of her music and it's a good feeling to have such a talented person say they like my voice."

The X Factor contestant added: "Paloma Faith has said she would be interested in working with me. I also heard a rumour that Amy Winehouse would like to write a song for me.

The young star even has Kylie rooting for her, despite the fact her sister Dannii is mentoring the boys category this year.

The Australian pop star said: "Obviously I'm Team Minogue, but I have to say, Rebecca really stands out this year as one of my favourites."

And Rebecca was singled out for praise from Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger following her performance of Poison on Sunday night's show.

The former guest judge said: "I've always believed in her. Her voice is just timeless."

The mum of two wowed the judges at the bootcamp round with her rendition of ‘Like A Star.’ Her performance led Simon Cowell to exclaim:

“That is a recording voice!”

Speaking from Cheryl’s English mansion, Rebecca admitted that the positive reaction she received, has helped to build her confidence in recent weeks. She said:

“The comments that the judges said have started to sink in and I’m starting to believe in myself. People dream of this. I stood in that line with thousands of people for hours and they would dream to be where I am. I’m going to give it my absolute all to get to the live shows. I think I’ve got a lot more to give.”

Cheryl greeted her and said:

“So me and you haven’t met yet. I’ve watched your tapes and I feel really happy to have you here and it’s lovely to meet you.”

Rebecca then sang Owl City’s Fireflys and after her performance, Cheryl raved toWill.i.am:

“I love the tone of her voice!”
